Our Elders

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with His own blood. Acts 20:28 (ESV)

Steve is a founding member, and the founding elder, of Christ’s Church of Chattanooga. He has served congregations in Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee since his call to the ministry of Jesus Christ in 1996. Steve graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. The years of ministry, education, and expository preaching, have shaped his perspective of the Church. As Christians abide in Christ and trust that His Word will manifest fruit in themselves and others, the Church will grow, by default, in conversions and the sanctification of its members. Equipping families to throw the Word wherever they are is Steve's goal for leading Christ’s Church of Chattanooga. He and his wife Amy strive to serve their Savior as they raise their nine children.

Judson is a founding member and the treasurer of Christ’s Church of Chattanooga. Judson was ordained as an elder in May 2008. He earned a BBA in Accounting at the University of West Georgia. Judson has a desire and a passion for father's hearts to be turned toward home (Malachi 4, Luke 1), discipleship, Biblical reformation of the family, return of daughters to Biblical standards, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord, in his infinite mercy and grace, brought Judson into the Kingdom in his teen years and for that he is truly thankful. Judson and his wife Shan, and their daughters Kelsey and Emma live in Hixson, Tennessee.

Michael, his wife Priscilla and five children have been a part of Christ’s Church of Chattanooga since May of 2007. Michael was ordained as an elder in December 2008. The Lord Jesus Christ transforms the lives of those that believe in Him and all the praise belongs to Christ for what He has done in the Poe family over the years. As a result of this transforming process, Michael has developed a passion for teaching the Word of God and making disciples. As lifelong residents of the Chattanooga area, Michael and Priscilla have a deep desire to see the Word of God increase and families make much of Jesus in this great city and the surrounding communities.
